FRAMINGHAM –  The Framingham State women’s soccer team defeated MCLA in MASCAC action Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field by a score of 1-0.  

Framingham State improved to 2-9-1 overall and 2-2 in the MASCAC.

MCLA dropped to 1-7-2overall, and 0-3-1in the Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • In the 10th minute the Rams had a great look when Hailey Baker sent a cross over to Alicia Tocman that’s shot went off the post and cleared off the end line.  
  • The Rams got on the scoreboard in the 18th minute when Grayson Tellier sent in a corner that was tipped by Victoria Potter to Tocman who buried it inside the left post.  
  • The Rams controlled the pace in the first half outshooting the visitors 15-to-1 but could not find another score before the break.  
  • MCLA had a look in front of the net with about three minutes to go but Jetta Oskirio made the save and the ensuing corner was unsuccessful.  
  • The Rams defense held the Trailblazers off the board to close out the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

  • Jetta Oskirko made four stops in the shutout for the Rams.  
  • Jillian Currier made nine saves in the setback for MCLA.  
  • The Rams outshot MCLA by a 24-to-5 mark and had eight corners to the visitors one.  

The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Lesley for non-conference action. MCLA will host Bryant & Stratton on Tuesday.
