FRAMINGHAM – Alice P. (Whitten) Bonanno, 94, of Franklin, passed away peacefully, Tuesday September 27, 2022, surrounded by her family, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI.

She was the beloved wife of the late Leo V. Bonanno, who died in 2021.

Born April 25, 1928, in Boston, a daughter of the late John P. & Alice G. (Williams) Whitten, she was a former longtime resident of Framingham, until moving to Franklin to be closer to her family.

She was raised and educated in South Boston and worked for Fenwal Electronics in Framingham.

Alice was devoted to her husband of 67 years, and her children. She enjoyed Dancing, singing in the Golden Rays Choir, watching the Red Sox, crocheting, spending the winter in Florida and sunbathing. And above all spending time with her family. Her sweet and gentle way will live on always.

She is survived by her children, Daniel J. Bonanno and his partner Irene Collette of Bellingham, Donna M. Luttrell and her husband Mike of Milford and Paula A. Farnsworth Bertone and her husband Michael of Franklin.

Alice was the sister of the late Mary DiPersio and George Whitten.

Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her visiting hours at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham, on Sunday Oct. 2nd, from 1-4PM.

Her funeral Mass and interment at St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham will be held privately.

Donations in her memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice.
