NATICK – Natick Fire Department responded to a report of a gas leak at Boston West Veterinary Emergency & Specialty just before 7 p.m.

Staff evacuated themselves along with the animals, one of which was a cat that had just undergone life saving surgery after being struck by a car, according to Natick Fire Department.

Crews secured the gas to the building while Engine 4 provided oxygen and warming to the cat until it was safe for everyone, including animals, to return inside.
