BROOKLINE – Framingham High boys cross-country team split in an away tri-meet in Brookline.

The “hard course surely tested the mettle of the Framingham Flyers on Brookline’s tough Larz Anderson course,” said Flyers head coach Ed Crowley.

“For the boys, it was a bittersweet day running a bit short handed for the varsity squad against a very strong Brookline team, but running tough in defeat,” said Coach Crowley.

Brookline won 15-50.

“On the other hand they earned their first victory against an improving Braintree team,” said Coach Crowley.

Framingham is now 1-3 this season.

Framingham senior captain Drew Hohenstein crossed the finish line first for the Flyers on Wednesday, September 13. His time was 16.51 minutes.

Junior Ben Habeski was second for the Flyers in 18.13 minutes.

Sophomore Andrew Feinblatt was third for Framingham in 8.36 minutes.

Framingham’s star cross-country runner Sam Burgess is still recovering from an injury.

Framingham’s next meet is on the road again, against Weymouth High and Wellesley High on Wednesday, September 21.
