WINCHESTER – Anthony Amore, candidate for Massachusetts State Auditor, has invited his Democratic opponent to join him for five debates in the general election campaign.

Amore proposed a mix of radio, digital, and TV debates in Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, and New Bedford.

“The race for State Auditor is too important to be left out of debates with major media outlets this fall. I have proposed a series of debates that will contrast my plan to be an independent Auditor with that of my opponent. Regional equity should be prioritized so all voters may hear directly about our competing visions. I am ready to make my case to them right now,” said Amore.

Today, September 13, the Amore 2022 campaign sent the following letter to the DiZoglio campaign in an effort to begin debate negotiations.

Senator DiZoglio:
Congratulations on winning your party’s nomination for State Auditor. Now that our primaries are over, we can finally focus on the general election.
I am writing to challenge you to five debates in locations across the Commonwealth that ensure the greatest possible opportunity for voters to learn about our positions and priorities. I believe we can work together to find neutral venues to host and moderate the debates, including television, digital, and radio outlets. Regional equity should be considered in these debates, which is why I am proposing we hold them in the areas of Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell, and New Bedford.

As a down-ticket race, the auditor’s contest does not always receive the attention it deserves. However, this year should be different as we are vying for an open seat. My campaign has already received interest in hosting debates from broadcast journalists.
I encourage you to accept and have your campaign manager contact my campaign manager, Mark Steffen, at mark@amore2022.com or 309-230-3628 to begin coordinating dates and locations.
I look forward to joining you in debates for the benefit of the voters.
Sincerely,

Anthony Amore
