FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham marked the 21st anniversary of September 11 with a ceremony at Cushing memorial park on Sunday morning.

The ceremony, attended by a small crowd, including remarks from Mayor Charlie Sisitsky and City Council Chair Phil Ottaviani Jr.

It also included the reading of the 17 names, with ties, to Framingham that died on September 11, 2001.

Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher read the name of a close personal friend Todd Hill along with a few others, with Framingham Police Chief Lester baker reading the rest of the names.

Those names included Neilie Heffernan Casey, Barbara Keating, Linda George, Lisa Fenn Gordenstein, Meta Fuller Waller, Laura Lee Morabito, Tara Shea Creamer, Charlie Murphy, Paige Farley Hackel, Judith Larocque, Christine Barbuto, Susan MacKay, Herbert W. Homer, John J. Wenckus, Robin Kaplan, and Darin H. Pontell.

Dozens of Framingham Firefighters and Police Officers attended the half-hour ceremony.

Also in attendance was At-large City Council George P. King Jr., District 3 City Councilor Adam Steiner, District 4 City Councilor Michael Cannon, and District 7 City Councilor Leora Mallach.

School Committee Chair Priscila Sousa attended, as did District 4 School Committee member Adam Freudberg and District 6 School Committee member Valeria Ottaviani.
