FRAMINGHAM – The Keefe Tech Broncos kicked had a scrimmage opener against the O’Bryant Tigers on August 27 and will open the season on the road tonight, September 9.
The Broncos will battle Atlantis Charter in Fall River at 7 p.m.
The Broncos are once again led by Head Coach Stephen Maycock.
Coach Maycock said the scrimmage was more of a joint practice to break down the basics of the
sport and prepare his players for the season.
“We just got a little live action against someone else which was good. We were just focusing on getting our fundamentals and working together with good communication,” Maycock said.
When it comes down to practices and gearing up for a game, Maycock makes sure his team is always improving.
“The main focus is always going to be to get better everyday and to focus on the task at hand.,” said the head coach.
After seeing his team officially play against other opponents for the first time this season, Maycock is holding his team to the highest of standards.
“The expectation for the team is to play hard and stick together. Communication is key to success. I expect us to be a gritty team with a strong work ethic,” he said.
With the season just starting up, Maycock said as of right now there have been no announcements assigning captains.
The first home game is September 23 against the Vikings of Smith Vocational High at the Maple
Street Athletic Field in Framingham. Kick-off is 7 p.m.
