UPDATED: Pedestrian Airlifted To Boston Trauma Center After Struck on Route 30

FRAMINGHAM – A man, 39, suffered significant head injuries and was airlifted to a Boston trauma center, after he was struck by a vehicle on Route 30 on Thursday evening, September 8, said the Framingham Fire Chief.

The pedestrian was struck around 6 p.m., said Framingham police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens.

A man was “crossing the street near McDonald’s on Route 30 and was struck by a vehicle” said Lt. Mickens.

Massachusetts State Police, Framingham Fire, and Framingham Police responded to the scene.

Framingham Fire Engine 5 & Ambulance 5 responded to the area of 343 Cochituate Road for the incident.

“On arrival, companies found a 39 year old male had been struck by a car.  The patient had significant injuries, including a head injury.  Due to the severity of the injuries, a medical helicopter was requested.  Patient was transported to the State Police landing zone,” said Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.

He was taken by medical helicopter to Mass General Hospital in Boston, said Lt. Mickens.

The driver stopped and remained on scene, said Lt. Mickens.
