FRAMINGHAM – Catherine Elaine Battershield of Framingham, passed away at her home on Wednesday August 31, 2022 at age 65.

Catherine was born in St. Anns, Jamaica on March 27, 1957. In 1971 she emigrated to the United States to live with her mother.

She attended Framingham South High School, where she graduated with the class of 1976. She worked with Amica Mutual Insurance Company for over 20 years.

Catherine had a fierce love for travel. Two of her favorite destinations were her native land of Jamaica and her adopted country of Barbados.

She had a passion for God’s work and serving god’s people. She was a member of Greater Framingham Community Church where she served in various capacities ranging from Kingdom Kids, Usher Board, Vacation Bible School, and Mission Outreach.

On Friday evenings and Saturday mornings you could find Catherine walking the streets of South Framingham and West Natick, passing out tracts and introducing people to Christ. She knew her assignment and her purpose.

She was loving, humble, kind, and compassionate. She loved God’s people and always found ways to help the less fortunate.

Catherine is survived by her husband Robert Battershield and her son Morrison Battershield, both of Framingham; grandchildren Malikai, Maddison, and Kymoni; sister Diana; nieces Alethia and Deidre; uncle Hector and aunt Florence; several sister and brother in-laws; cousins; extended family at Greater Framingham Community Church; and many friends. Catherine is pre-deceased by her grandmother Advira Richards and her mother Evelyn Nelson.

Burial at Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove St. Framingham, on Saturday September 10, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
