FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public Library will host a 200th anniversary celebration of Brazilian Independence with Ambassador Benedicto Fonseca Filho, the Consul General of Brazil of Boston on Tuesday, September 6 at the main Framingham Library at 49 Lexington Street.

Following more than three centuries under Portuguese rule, Brazil gained its independence in 1822 on September 7.

Enjoy a performance by the Choro Trio at 6 p.m., as well as kid-friendly activities.

Storytime in Portuguese lead by the Dual language Parent Advisory Council (DLPAC) of the Framingham Schools at 5 p.m.

Blue Morpho Butterfly and Paper Finger Snake Craft at 5 p.m. This program will be in both English and Portuguese (translated by the DLPAC).
