Congresswoman Clark Declines League of Women Voters Forum
In full transparency, the following is a press release submitted to SOURCE media.
FRAMINGHAM – The Leagues of Women Voters in the Fifth Congressional District have offered to sponsor a candidates’ forum in the Fifth Congressional District race between Rep. Katherine Clark and Caroline Colarusso.
Clark, a Democrat. has declined the invitation.
Colarusso, a Republican, has accepted it.
League policy prohibits “empty chair” forums that feature only one candidate in a 2-person race, so the Leagues in the Congressional district will not hold the planned forum.
The Leagues involved in the forum are Acton Area (Maynard), Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Framingham, Lexington, Melrose, Sudbury, Waltham, Watertown, Wayland, Wellesley, Weston and Winchester.
Clark and Colarusso participated in a League of Women Voters forum in their 2020 race.
The League publishes an online voters’ guide, VOTE411.org, with information on elections and candidates’ responses to a League questionnaire.
