FRAMINGHAM – We are writing to publicly express our support for Priscilla Souza to be our new state representative in the  September 6, 2022 Democrat primary for the one newly created legislative district that exclusively covers much of Framingham.

As long time residents,  who have been actively involved in many aspects of our city’s community efforts, we are concerned about the impact of the recent legislative redistricting in Framingham which dilutes some of our city’s state impact

Framingham is faced with a wide range of challenges needing state support from housing to schools to public safety to transportation and more. Check out some of Priscilla’s policy statements!

We need a strong full time, HIGHLY COMMUNICATIVE and Framingham focused legislator in Boston to effectively address these issues.

Priscilla came to America from Brazil with her parents when she was seven years old. Growing up on Weld Street in Framingham, she bussed to Potter Elementary School to attend their English as a Second Language (ESL) program. She later graduated from Marian High School and went on to earn her BA in Political Science from Simmons University in Boston.

Priscila was elected to the Framingham School Committee in 2019, and re-elected in 2021, then becoming chosen by her peers as its chair and, where she now signs every graduate’s diploma!

As a School Committee member, she led the renaming of Harmony Grove School and in doing so stimulated the school’s parents organization to be one of the most active in the city. She is a strong advocate for high quality early education for all students with a focus on children as contrasted with those whose priorities might be more politically attuned to an interest group.

Priscilla Souza is supported by many of Framingham’s effective government leaders including those who supported the election of Mayor Charlie Sisitsky. That support will serve her well in integrating city needs with state resources.

In summary, Priscilla is a well spoken, accessible person, and a long time Framingham resident. She knows the full range of our city’s needs. Her verbal and writing communication skills make her the person best qualified to serve this large district that covers so much of our city.

Please join us in voting for Priscilla Souza on Sept 6, or like us, with a legal and convenient early vote.
