HOPKINTON – A GoFundMe has been set up for a Hopkinton man killed in a Framingham motorcycle crash earlier this month.

Tommy Toomey, 39, died tragically in a motorcycle crash on Salem End Road.

“Our family is devastated and shocked by this huge loss,” wrote Natalie Doherty, who created the GoFundMe.

“If you knew Tommy, you know that he was an incredibly talented artist and handy man. He was a big teddy bear and one of the kindest souls around. Willing to give even a stranger the shirt off his back. Tommy loved and adored his four beautiful daughters; Caitlyn, Tommi, Peyton, and Riley Toomey more than anything. He loved his sister Stephanie; his dad and namesake, Tom Toomey Jr.; and his mom, Susanne (Greene) Toomey, who pre-deceased him,” wrote Doherty.

“He loved riding his motorcycle, he loved animals, he loved his friends and family, and he loved his country which he served honorably in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army and was a combat veteran. His loss leaves a massive void for our family and his daughters,” wrote Doherty.

Many people have offered to help and we want to be able to extend a way to support Tommy and his daughters and family at this difficult time, she wrote.

We are setting up this go fund me to assist with immediate upfront costs of his arrangements and services. Any additional contributions will go to the benefit of his children, Doherty wrote.

Goal is to raise $10,000. More than $5,000 has been raised in 4 days.
