NATICK – Natick Public Schools Superintendent Anna P. Nolin has announced the promotions of Timothy Luff to deputy superintendent and director of student services Erin Miller to an expanded role as director of student services and equity on the Central Office administration team.

“We look forward to Mr. Luff and Ms. Miller building on the excellent programs and services they’ve created and maintained while a part of Natick Public Schools,” Nolin said. “Student services, safety, security, diversity, inclusion, and equity encompass core features of our strategic plan, and these promotions reflect our commitment to our students and staff in providing the services they need.”

Luff, who previously served as assistant superintendent for student services, will now have direct oversight for safety, security, student services, social-emotional learning, and equity and assist human resources. He will continue handling legal matters for the department, including policy, open meetings law, public records, audits, investigations, mediations, civil rights compliance, and Title IX compliance. Luff will also coordinate leader evaluations, discipline advisory, and work with staff to address anti-bullying and harassment efforts. In addition to aiding with the district’s diversity, equity, and inclusion work, Luff will supervise the district’s after-school program and oversee the summer academics program.

Luff has been with NPS since 2012 after serving as director and assistant director for student services in the Oxford Hills School District in Maine. Before that, he served as a special education teacher at three schools in Maine. Luff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education/Psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington and his Master of Science in Educational Leadership/Special Education administration from the University of Southern Maine. He is pursuing an executive Juris Doctor in education from Concord Law School.

Miller has been with NPS since 2015 as the director of student services and broadens her duties in that area by joining the Central Office administrative team. In her new role, Miller will oversee the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all special education programming, home hospital tutoring, out-of-district placements, and alternative programs. 

Miller takes charge of compliance and service delivery for NPS’ health services, psychology, guidance, and English-language learning teams, as well as all special education coordinators and board-certified behavioral analysts. She will also manage the district’s response-to-intervention measures, 504 accommodations, English-language learning, the extended school year program, and assist with the district’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Before joining NPS, Miller was the assistant principal for special education at Franklin Public Schools and began her career there as a special education teacher before serving as department head. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in human science and services from the University of Rhode Island and has a Master of Science in Education from Simmons College. Miller earned a graduate certificate in school climate and social-emotional learning from William James College.
