FRAMINGHAM – Framingham defeated Northbridge 5-4 Friday night, July 15 to pick up their ninth win in a row.

Patrick Chapin picked up the win throwing 5 innings of relief while Cody Coleman picked up the save pitching the 7th inning. Chapin threw 5 innings giving up 1 ER, 2 BB and 5 strikeouts while Coleman threw 1 inning giving up 1 hit 1 BB and striking out 2.

Framingham would go down 2-0 until bottom on the second inning when high school sophomore Griffin Schutte hit a ball over the trees in left field at Bowditch for a home run to cut the lead in half for Framingham.

Northbridge would score runs in the second and fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead.

Northbridge starter Michael Shorey (Freshman pitcher for Anna Maria College) pitched very well as he would go five-plus innings scattering 8 hits and 3ER with 3 BB and four strikeouts.

In the 4th inning Dom Morrelli walked and scored on triple hit by Connor Coweren to cut the lead to 4-2.

Framingham would fight back and tie the game up in the sixth  inning as both Connor Kramer and Griffin Schutte would hit sac fly’s to tie the score up.

In the bottom of the 6th, Mike Pasko hit a one-hopper that went over the centerfield fence for a ground rule double that scored Conner Kramer to put Framingham up 5-4.

For Framingham, Kyle Chan went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a run scored.

Framingham advances in Zone 4 playoffs and will play tonight at 7 against Milford at Fino Field.
