NATICK – Philip C. Wright, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

Born and raised in Natick, he was the son of the late Richard “Dick” Wright and Virginia “Ginny” Wright. Phil was a devoted father to Kristen Wright, Lindsey Wright, and Tracy Wright and her husband Joshua, and stepfather to Casey Laing, all formerly of Natick, MA. Jovial middle brother to R. Spencer Wright of Somerville, MA, Steven Wright and his wife Susan of Kauai, HI, Jeffrey Wright of Charlestown, NH , and the late J. Douglas Wright. Dedicated and loving grandfather to Sophia and Lizzie. Beloved fiancé of the late Margaret “Peg” Laing. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Phil spent his youth playing hockey with the Natick Comets and graduated from Natick High School in 1978. He spent summers as a prep chef at Thompson’s Clam Bar in Harwich Port.

He attended UMass Amherst until he began his career as a Computer Operator at TJX in 1981.

Phil emanated pure love and shared his whole heart with those he loved. His adventurous spirit led him to travel around the country and he could often be found spending time on Cape Cod with his family and friends, and occasionally solo, just to get some peace and quiet from his houseful of girls. A simple guy, Phil just needed his friends and family, a Bud Light, a Boston sports team on the television, and good tunes. His smile could light up a room and his well-timed sarcastic comments and dad jokes made large groups of people explode with laughter. Phil’s skills on the grill and epic dance moves were also something of a legend.

Son of a veteran, Phil was the First Commander of the Natick Sons of Amvets and an auxiliary member of the VFW. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, Natick Common.

A celebration of Phil’s life will follow at Amvets Post 79, 79 Superior Drive, Natick. The family asks that attendees wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Phil may be made to the Natick Service Council Food Pantry, 2 Webster Street, Natick, MA 01760.
