FRAMINGHAM – Over the Independence Day weekend, Framingham Police received five reports of homes broken into in the Dunning Elementary & Walsh Middle school neighborhoods.

On Tuesday, July 5 police received two more home breaking & entering reports.

“Both happened sometime over the holiday weekend. No one home at either,” said Framingham Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens.

Lt. Mickens said homeowners reported the incident but are still trying to itemize what, if anything ,was stolen.

At 22 Elder Street the homeowner reported the read door was broken into, said Lt. Mickens.

Elder Street is in the Butterworth Park neighborhood.

At 66 Leigh Street, “possible entry” was through a window. Leigh Street is off Brook Street.

“There is some new surveillance that detectives are reviewing,” said Lt. Mickens.

Yesterday afternoon, July 5, Framingham Police released a flyer with video images of one of the thieves over the weekend. (Flyer is posted below).

Long holiday weekend and vacation weeks are popular with thieves.

Residents should always lock their homes.
