FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public Library Foundation is seeking six artists to paint live at Noche De Fiesta on July 23 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in Framingham
The free event is a celebration of the Framingham Public Library and the Hispanic & Brazilian culture downtown and a fundraiser for the Framingham Public Library Foundation.
The live art event invites 6 MetroWest artists, preference given to LatinX artists, to paint live during the 3.5 hour event, with the public watching.
At the end of the event, three paints will be displayed at the main Framingham Library and three paintings at the Christa McAuliffe Library branch through Labor Day.
There will be an online auction for the 6 painting with the auction ending on September 10.
The proceeds from the online auction will be split 50-50 between the artists and the Framingham Public Library Foundation, which support the Framingham Public Library.
Deadline to apply has been extended to Friday, July 15 at 11 p.m.
Interested artists should submit three samples of their work, and a couple of paragraphs about themselves and why they should be selected to paint live. There is NO fee to submit.
Artists must be at least 16 years old.
Preference is given to Framingham artists and LatinX artists.
Six artists will be selected and announced on Saturday, July 16.
The artists on July 23 will be given a canvas – roughly 4 feet by 3 feet and money for supplies.
The artists will have 3.5 hours between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. to complete their interpretation of “fiesta.” Painting must be PG-13 rated. No other restrictions.
If artist is selected, artist agrees to have painting displayed at the library throughout the rest of the summer, and auctioned in September 2022.
Artists will receive 50% of the proceeds from their work sold.
