FRAMINGHAM – Henry F. Carter, 89, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died Monday, June 13, 2022.
Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Walter & Suzanna (Bradley) Carter.
Raised and educated in Framingham, Henry served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War.
Henry worked for many years as a bartender in the former Open Door Bar. He enjoyed visiting throughout the year with family and friends on holidays and special occasions. Henry loved the Red Sox and old western movies, and always wore his big heart on his sleeve.
Henry is survived by his daughters, Ava Scavelli of FL, Susan Carter of FL, Tina McCarthy of MA, and Michelle Guerrlich of NH, his grandchildren, Kimberly, Jennifer, Heather, Matthew, Cassaundra, and Ariel, great grandchildren, his sister, Mary Theresa Scata, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Frederick “Ted”, Walter “Babe”, Eleanor Carter, Robert (Rob) Carter, Evelyn “Deet” Carter (Beaudet), Allan (Buck) Carter.
Family and friends will honor and remember Henry’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, June 27 from 9-11 a.m.
His graveside services with military honors will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fenwick Street in Framingham at 11:30 a.m.
