FRAMINGHAM – For the first time since, 2019, MetroFest was held in-person at Bowditch Field.

The event, organized by the MetroWest Visitors and Tourism Bureau, was virtual in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

The 9th Annual MetroFest returned to Bowditch Field in Framingham on Saturday, June 11.

There were about 10 food trucks, dozens of community booths, local entertainment on the small stage including students from Natick’s School of Rock, crafters, artisans, and small business owners, and some popular entertainers on the large stage, including Framingham’s own Eguie Castrillo and his Orchestra Latin percussion.

The 5-hour event also featured a kids corner with bouncy houses and a touch-a-truck area, including police cruisers, fire trucks, DPW trucks and Middlesex Sheriff’s vehicles.

In the parking lot of Bowditch Field, several teams build a handful of clubhouses as part of Habitat’s Operation Playhouse Build-A-Thon. The clubhouses were later awarded to Veterans’ families.

It was a gorgeous sunny day, and many families took advantage of it playing with the games on the field, dancing to the music, and having picnics with their food from the trucks.
