FRAMINGHAM – The Manton Foundation has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest
to make a transformation gift of $100,000 that will provide financial assistance for up to 800 youth to
attend the summer program at the Framingham Clubhouse.

The Summer Program includes activities for youth and teens ages 5-14 and is for eight weeks this
summer, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm. The Summer Reading Incentive Program, field trips,
arts & crafts, sports, and STEM are among the activities planned for the summer program. It also
includes breakfast and lunch to all participants daily, through a partnership with the Framingham Public
Schools and Project Bread.

“Because of this generous investment from The Manton Foundation, we are able to meet the increased
demand for financial assistance for our summer program. Parents are still in need of supervision for
their children while they work, and this program ensures that parents/guardians have access to
affordable summer care.” Said Chris Duane, President and CEO of BGCMW.

“My daughter, Savannah, will get to attend the program all summer long,” says Amie Sorel, a Framingham Clubhouse parent. “I am truly grateful for the help the Boys & Girls Club has given my family. This helps me a great deal with not having to stress about what bill I can’t pay because I need to pay for summer. It is a piece of mind.”

The Manton Foundation has invested $400,000 in the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest for capital
improvements since 2017, but this gift will directly impact the youth and their families.

“When we learned about the need for affordable summer programming, with long hours, for families in South Framingham, we were immediately drawn to support. It is exciting to make a gift like this – a first of its’ kind for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest,” said the Trustees of the Manton Foundation.

The Framingham Clubhouse is one of Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest three communities; more than 100 youth and teens attend the Club daily in Framingham. It is temporarily at 25 Clinton Street in the previous Christa McAuliffe Charter School building.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest has enabled community youth most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. The Clubs serve more than 6,200 youth each year across its’ three Clubhouses in Hudson, Marlborough and Framingham.

The Club maintains a low membership fee of $25 per year, per child because of the generous support provided by local companies, foundations, and individuals.
