FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High softball team defeated Needham High in 8 innings today to improve top 6-6 in the Bay State Conference.

The Flyers defeated the Rockets 7-6.

Framingham is now 9-10 overall with the final regular season game May 25 against Milton High on the road.

Junior centerfielder Julia Matz drove in pinch runner Eden Manning (for senior Jenna Smith) with an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th for the walk-off win.

Smith got on to lead off the bottom of the 8th, and was moved into scoring position by senior Paige Lamberson.

Senior Sam Wozniak drew a walk before Matz’s RBI single.

Senior captain Smith went 2-3 with an RBI.

Senior captain Sophia Tesorero went 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI and a run scored.

Wozniak scored a run.

Freshman pitcher Kayla Goodridge went the distance, giving up 6 hits with 5 strike outs.

Goodridge was also 2-4 with a triple, RBI and run scored.
