ASHLAND – Barbara A Leacu, 75, a lifelong resident of Ashland passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, May 15, 2022.
She was the daughter of the late Herve and Delia (Krauchune) Beaudoin.
She was the wife of the late William M Leacu, and sister to the late David Beaudoin.
She is survived by her daughter, Adrian Rainone of Ashland; grandchildren, Alexander and Julian Rainone, and AJ and Camille Stotz, step-sons, William Leacu Jr of Ashland, and Thomas Leacu and his wife Sheila of Ashland; two step-daughters, Cynthia Leacu of Maine and Bonny Stotz and her husband Andrew of Maine, her first husband and good friend Donald Bolzani, as well as many dear friends and family members.
She worked for 35 years as the Office Manager at Ashland Excavating with her late husband William Leacu and step son, William “Larko” Leacu, and prior to that held positions at Telechron, Zayre Corp and Honeywell. She was a charter member of the Greater Ashland Lions.
She loved her family, the ocean, her animals, telling stories of her childhood, and caring for others. She hosted many family events over the years and was always welcoming and gracious and sent everyone home with a “to go” bag. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Her glow will light our lives for years to come.
A funeral service will be held Friday May 20 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
