FRAMINGHAM A Worcester woman was killed in a crash on the Mass Pike early Friday morning, according to Mass State Police.

Her name is not being released at this time.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. today Troopers assigned to the State Police-Weston Barracks responded to a crash involving a car that had rear-ended a tractor-trailer onMass Pike westbound in Framingham at the 113.6 mile marker. 

When Troopers arrived on scene they discovered a 2020 Mini Cooper, operated by a 29-year-old Worcester woman, had struck the trailer being pulled by the truck.

The woman was determined to be deceased on scene.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle.   

Preliminary investigation reveals that the Mini Cooper was possibly speeding prior to rear ending the tractor trailer. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash.  

Middle and left lane closures were in place until approximately 7 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation by members of Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and State Police Crime Scene Services Section.

State Police were assisted on scene by Framingham Police, Framingham Fire and EMS, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
