FRAMINGHAM – Ronna Levy, a Framingham native, will be a part of a virtual storytelling event through the Toronto International Storytelling Festival entitled “Good Gyn, Bad Gyn: Women’s Health Stories,” which will be available from May 6 at 7 p.m. until May 29.

Levy currently lives in Brooklyn but grew up in Framingham and said she has “very good memories” of her time there.

“I have very good friends from elementary school that I’m still very close with,” said Levy.

She said she has told a story before about her time moving to and growing up in Framingham.

“I loved growing up there,” she added.

Levy taught before becoming a professional storyteller.

“I’ve always been a teacher, so I’ve always been telling stories in front of the students in the classroom,” she said.

“I’m retired now,” Levy added, “and so this is what I’d like to be doing now.”

She said she has always been “really interested” in people’s lives.

Levy added she found a group of storytellers during the COVID-19 pandemic and they have been meeting twice a week. “Everyone’s from all over the country – one lady’s from Canada and one lady’s from Mexico.”

She said, “Storytelling is just a wonderful way to hear stories – to connect to people.”
