ASHLAND – Thomas Harrison, 88, passed away Thursday April 14, 2022,  at his home in Naples, Florida.

Tom was born in Boston, MA to Mabel Cromwell Harrison O’Keefe and Thomas Harrison on June 6, 1933. 

Before high school graduation, Tom enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged after four years of duty in 1954. Tom was a lifetime member of the VFW. 

After service, Tom played semi-pro baseball in Boston and under the G.I. Bill took college courses at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Tom took a job with General Motors and later worked as an International Representative for the United Auto Workers eventually serving as Assistant Director for Region 9A. 

Tom enjoyed fishing, rooting for the Red Sox, coin collecting, golfing, and caring for many beloved dogs. 

Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Murdina Isabel Harrison, children Thomas, Helen Joan Davies (Richard), John, James (Terry), Kenneth (Sue), grandchildren, Christine, (Brandon), Laura (Carl), Rebecca, Thomas, Alexandra, Gregory, Kelly, Brooke, Dylan, and great-grandchildren, Eli, Calvin, Harrison, and Sylvie.

A funeral service will be celebrated Saturday May 7 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with urn burial to follow in Gardens of Gethsemane Cemetery in Boston.
