FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters extinguished a “fully-involved” garage fire on Union Avenue this morning, April 19.

The call came in at 10:22 a.m. for a possible “explosion” at 407 Union Avenue, said the fire department.

Framingham Engine 5, Engine 1, Engine 3, Ladder 3, Rescue 1, and Car 2 responded.

  “Engine 5 on scene first reported fully involved detached garage fire,” said Framingham Assistant Fire Chief John Schultz.

“Great job by all crews, fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes,” said the Framingham Assistant Fire Chief.

Firefighters worked hard to make sure the fire never extended to the home.

No civilians injured, but one firefighter suffered a minor injury.

Fire Investigation team along with building department investigating the cause of the fire.

Garage is a total loss and slated for demolition, said Assistant Fire Chief Schultz.
