FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University baseball team scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning to secure the 5-1 victory against MCLA Thursday afternoon at Bowditch Field in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action.

With the win Framingham State is now 2-5 in the Conference and 6-15 overall.

MCLA is winless in the Conference at 0-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED:  

  • The Rams built a 4-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the first and an RBI single by Daniel Robichaud in the bottom of the third.
  • MCLA made it on the board in the top of the fourth with a single run. Austin Rachiele came around to score on an RBI double to right center off the bat of Isaiah Mack.
  • After a near scoreless fourth and fifth inning, the Rams closed the game with a final single run in the bottom of the sixth when Kevin Girardin recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly to deep center field, sending Cameron Gilroy home.
  • Scott Nosky earned the complete-game victory for the Rams going nine innings allowing one run on four hits with three strikeouts.

  • Steven Burbank and Robichaud finished the game with a pair of hits and two RBI for the Rams.
  • Ryan Boyle, Kennedy Wilson, and Gilroy all recorded hits for the Rams in the victory.
  • The Trailblazers received a pair of hits from Mack in the game.
  • Aidan Brett took the loss on the mound allowing four runs, two earned, on six hits with six strikeouts.

UP NEXT:The Rams will face off against MCLA once again in double header MASCAC action on Friday starting at 2 p.m.
