UPTON – Edward J. Loring of Upton died at home on Sunday April 3, 2022.

He was the son of the late Lillian M. (Cybulski) Loring and the late Edward F. Loring of Framingham.
He is survived by his brother Richard Loring and his wife Kim of Upton, and his sister Linda Loring
Shea and her late husband David of Lunenburg. Nieces and nephews Kendra Nawrocki and her
husband Tim, Alexa Shea, Blithen Davis and her husband Carl, Allison Loring, Trevor Loring, Eric Loring,
Edward Loring, David Shea and his wife Olivia, Brad Frary and his wife Madison. He is predeceased by his
brothers William C. Loring (married to Susan) of Fitchburg and Barry Loring of Framingham, and his
sister Marcia Loring Frary of Framingham.

Ed graduated from Framingham South High, had received a BA from Northeastern and an MBA from
Babson College. Ed played center for Framingham South’s “Thundering Herd” football team who were
co-champs of the Bay State League in 1969.

He was a rink rat for most of his life spending countless hours at Edward F. Loring Arena and elsewhere playing in all manner of youth, intramural, company, and senior hockey leagues.

Despite back issues that prevented him from skating Ed was loathe to abandon his equipment and only recently discarded his skates while packing up for the move from Marlboro to Upton. Ed was also an avid runner and could often be seen jogging around Butterworth Park and throughout Framingham or Marlboro.

Ed was a longtime employee of Exergy, LLC in Garden City, NY a maker of heat exchangers for the global
market. Ed spent over 25 years in various capacities at Exergy, most recently as their head of inside
sales. Prior to that Ed was employed by several high-tech companies and was the sole proprietor of a
successful electronic components’ distributorship for several years.

Ed enjoyed music and possessed a large and eclectic collection of albums from a wide range of artists.

As a result of his recent move from Marlboro to Upton Ed realized it was time to rely on his digital CDs and he donated all of his vinyl records to his grateful nephews. Ed will be missed by many including his
longtime friends and cohorts who regularly convened at “The Can”.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2022, at Edgell Grove Cemetery, 53 Grove
Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
