FRAMINGHAM – Mary Owens Perry, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family and two dogs on March 29, at her residence in Cummington.

Mary was born on December 27, 1952, to Andrew Owens and Margaret Falvey Owens in Worcester and grew up in Framingham.

She was raised in an unassumingly proud Irish household valuing education and quick-wit. She remained close throughout her life with her brothers Peter Owens and the late Robert Owens as well as her sister Andrea Shagory. Her sister in law Elizabeth Owens has been both friend and family throughout her life.

Mary is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren and two dogs; her son Robert Anspach Jr., his wife Heather and children Robert and Amelia; her daughter Meghan Francis and children Olivia and Sydney; and son Peter Anspach and children Mary, Samuel and Katharine.

Mary made dear friends in all that she endeavored to do from her long career in banking and involvement with the Rotary club to her lifelong devotion as a founding member of the St. Stephens Reunion Committee.

Mary enjoyed travelling with friends and family throughout her vibrant life, from Vietnam to Iceland, from Hawaii to Cape Cod and Dublin to Paris. She held dual citizenship in Ireland and the United States. Mary loved shenanigans, she wouldn’t put up with any malarkey, and would never send her children out of the house dressed like ragamuffins.

The last years of Mary’s life were lived in Cummington, where her loving spirit filled the community that, in turn, embraced her and supported her during her last brush with cancer. This support and encouragement was led by her daughter Meg, her nephew, Ted Shagory and enriched by visits from her children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews and friends. Mary was abundantly loved and will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will honor and remember Mary’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home on Friday evening, April 22 from 5-7p.m., and again on Saturday Morning April 23 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Interment will take place privately.

Remembrances may be made in Mary’s name to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Mamphis, TN, 38105, www.stjude.org.
