Framingham Police’s ‘Blue Blitz Enforcement’ Issues 2 School Bus Violations & 17 Traffic Citations

FRAMINGHAM – On Tuesday, March 22, the Framingham Police Department’s Traffic and Safety Division pulled over a bus for “kids being disruptive” on a school bus.

Framingham Police officers also “issued two school bus related violations and 17 other traffic citations,” said Framingham Police Lt. Rachel Mickens.

The Framingham Poilce are participating in a program called “Blue Blitz Enforcement.”

“The goal of this operation is to crack down on dangerous driving around school buses, especially stop arm violations,” said the police department.

Lt. Mickens said the officers will be out again as part of the “Blue Blitz Enforcement.”

“The Safety Division worked closely with transportation managers and the public to determine which bus stops and/or routes have issues or concerns,” explained Lt. Mickens. “Our hope is that this high visibility enforcement will help remind the community of the importance of keeping our children safe on their way to and from school.”

The violations on Tuesday were for drivers “going through the school bus stop sign,” said Lt. Mickens.
