WAYLAND – Kathleen “Kathy” (Carney) Hayes, of Wayland, passed away on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at the age of 70.

Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Joyce (McEwen) and William Carney. 

Kathy was the devoted mother of Nicholas Hayes of Somerville, and the loving sister of Stephanie Carney of Milford and the late Timothy and Trish Carney. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and brothers William Carney of Fredericksburg VA and Peter Carney of Natick. 

Kathy graduated from Natick High School in 1969, with lifelong friends Chris and Kathy Adams.

Her home was always full of love and understanding for her family, friends, and friends who became family. She loved skunking her son on the cribbage board, doing her crosswords in pen, and laughing through life’s difficulties along with the people she loved. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a celebration of Kathy’s life in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street Natick Common, on Saturday March 26, 2022 from 1 to 4 p.m.

. Afterward, there will be a gathering with food and friends at The Sons and Daughters of Italy in Natick, 37 Washington Ave, Natick from 4 to 7 p.m.
