FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is seeking to re-design Reardon Park in the Saxonville neighborhood of the City.

The Framingham Parks & Recreation Commission will hold its second design and planning meeting on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. remotely via Zoom.

The park is located at corner of Laclede Avenue/Maymont Drive in Saxonville.

The park was named for Framingham Resident William Reardon, who worked hard to get the town to develop a beach on Lake Cochituate in the Saxonville section of Framingham. The beach opened during the summer of 1954.

The park currently has

  • Baseball – Little League
  • Basketball – Half Court
  • Playground
  • Softball

Current permitted users of the park include

  • Framingham Baseball League – Little League
  • Oaks Neighborhood Association

On March 23, Weston and Sampson will present conceptual park and playground designs to review the master plan and address Reardon Park’s accessibility and equipment concerns, said Framingham Parks & Recreation Director James Snyder.

On the agenda:

  1. Master Plan discussion and vision for the park
  2. Phase I – Playground Design and Parking
