CLERMONT, FLORIDA – The Framingham State University softball team suffered a pair of losses this morning falling to Rowan by a score of 5-2 before falling to Wooster 5-3 at the Spring Games. 

The Rams, now drop to 2-4 overall.

Wooster is now 3-1 and Rowan improves to 8-3.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:  

Game 1: Rowan 5, Framingham State 2 

  • The Rams took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a two run double from Kelsey McGuill. 
  • The game would remain 2-0 in favor of the Rams until Rowan tallied a single run in the bottom of the fourth. 
  • Rowan added three more in the bottom of fifth and one in the sixth to reach the final margin. 
  • McGuill finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI, while Krie Hague drove in a pair of runs for Rowan. 
  • Ally Moran took the loss for the Rams going two innings in relief allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits. 

Game 2: Wooster 5, Framingham State 3 

  • The Rams struck first in the bottom of the first inning when McGuill delivered a bases loaded sacrifice fly ball to left that plated Camille Desrochers who had led off the inning with a double. 
  • Wooster plated three runs in the top of the second taking a 3-1 lead, but the Rams answered with a pair in the bottom of the third tying the game at 3-3. McGuill once again delivered a sacrifice fly, while Abby Clark added an RBI single. 
  • Wooster took the lead for good with single runs in the top of the fourth and fifth to reach the final margin. 
  • Shannon Ward took the loss in the circle going two and two thirds allowing two unearned runs on two hits with two walks.
