NEW YORK – Framingham High junior Sam Burgess finished in 6th place in the 2 mile event at the New Balance National Indoor Track Championship in New York today, March 11.

His time was 8:58.34 a new personal record of Burgess, who has been breaking his own record all season. This obviously also sets a new Framingham High indoor track record.

With the finish, Burgess was named a Junior All-American.

Burgess is not done at the Nationals, he has signed up to run a 5K race on Saturday.

The winning time in the 2-mile event was By Gavin Sherry at 8:48,59 minutes.
