FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Housing Authority Chair Steven Starr is retiring from the Authority after two decades.

Today, March 10, the Authority Board members and Executive Director Paul Landers and staff held a retirement party for Starr.

“As the director and on behalf of the staff at the Framingham Housing Authority a big thank you for 20 years of serving on the board and for having vision for how the Housing Authority should look and serve the community,” said Landers.

“Steve was always there, and not just the monthly meetings,” said Landers. who said Starr went beyond the basic requirements, “whether it was checking in on a modernization project going on or the annual board tour in the spring.”

The Board now tours all Authority properties, thanks to Starr’s suggestion, said Landers.

“The Framingham Housing Authority is better for having Steve Starr as a Commission for the past 20 years. We were lucky to have his commitment and service, and we will miss his wealth of institutional knowledge,” said Framingham Housing Authority Commissioner Janet Leombruno.

Starr chaired the Authority for several years, and was the Authority’s representative on the newly-formed Community Preservation Committee.

Steve’s level of dedication will be missed, said Landers.
