FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High girls ice hockey, coming off their first playoff win in 12 years, battled the #1-seeded Duxbury High team in the MIAA tournament, but in the end the Dragons won tonight, March 5.

The Dragons of Duxbury scored first in the game, and held on to that 1-0 win headed into the third period.

Duxbury out-shot the Flyers 34-5, with Framingham goalie Liz Luong keeping Framingham in the game all three periods.

The Flyers season – its 25th – ends with a record of 9-8-5.

The team won its first playoff game since 2010 on March 2.

“The Flyers lose a hard fought battle to the #1 team in the state,” Tweeted the head coach Casey Diana. “Thank you to our Seniors #3, #11, #18, #19, #21 and #22. From 4-16 as freshmen to playing with the best as Seniors. We couldn’t be prouder. Your presence will be felt for years to come.”
