FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High girls ice hockey team won its first playoff game since 2010 tonight, March 2 at Loring Arena.

The Flyers defeated Central Catholic High School 4-3 in an MIAA Division 2 tournament game.

This is the 25th season of the Framingham High girls ice hockey program, and the last time the Flyers won a playof game, their coach was a freshman at Framingham High.

Tatum Villa scored the game winning goal, said Coach Casey Diana. It was her first varsity goal.

Sophia Tersoni had two goals in the playoff win. The fourth goal was scored by Mackenzie Coleman.

Liz Luong made 29 saves in net in the win.

Framingham was seeded #32 and Central Catholic was seeded #33 in the tourney out of 33 teams.

The Flyers now have to play the #1 seeded team Duxbury on March 5.
