BOSTON – Framingham High sophomore Abby Desmarais captured third place at the MIAA All-State Championship meet yesterday, February 26

Her time of 40.87 broke her own Framingham High School record, said Coach Chris Collins.

Cambridge Rindge & Latin junior won the event breaking the 40 second mark at 39.87 seconds.

The Framingham High girls 4 X 200 relay team placed 8th.

“Without one of, if not the, fastest 200 runner in the state (Maya Bishop) senior Captain Trinity Trainor stepped in and did a superb job anchoring the squad to a medal finish,” said Coach Collins.

The Flyers finished in 1:48.61 minutes.

Andover won the event in 1:46.72 minutes, with Lowell second.

Framingham still has the fastest relay time in the state this season at 1:46.21.

Sprinters yesterday included Ella Terranova (sophomore), senior captain Priscilla Mota, Desmarais and Trainor with anchor split of 27.7 seconds.

The relay team will compete at the National meet in New York City in March 11-13.
