FRAMINGHAM – An Indian restaurant is being proposed for the former Volturno restaurant site at 1 Edgell Road in Framingham.

Volturno closed in March 2020 when the pandemic began. The restaurant has been empty since then.

Agape Restaurant Group LLC has applied for a license to open a restaurant at 1 Edgell Road with the Framingham License Commission.

The proposed name is Silk-Global Cuisine.

The applicants for the restaurant are Suman Kota of Bolyston and Karthik Mada of Shrewsbury.

The two will rent space at 1 Edgell Road in the first year at $108,192.

The proposed manger is Laxmi Kota.

The proposed capacity is 148, with 90 customers indoors and 20 customers on patio.

Proposed menu includes breakfast, lunch, & dinner.

Agape Restaurant Group LLC is registered at 8110 Shops Way in Northborough, where an Indian restaurant named Kumar’s operates at 8110 Shops Way in Northborough.
