FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys ice hockey team qualified for post-season play under new head coach Dan Riva.

The MIAA Division 1 seedings came out tonight and St. John’s Prep grabbed the top spot with Xaverian High in the second spot. Hockey powerhouses Catholic Memorial and the Harbormen of Hingham High round out the top 4.

Thirty-three teams made the playoffs, and the Flyers were ranked #24.

The Flyers have a first-round bye but will play #9-ranked Braintree High to open the tournament.

They will travel to Randolph for a game on Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m. Zapustas Arena against the Wamps.

Other Bay State Conference teams in the playoffs other than the Flyers and Wamps include Wellesley High, seeded #14 and Natick High at #27.
