FRAMINGHAM – Alice O’Leary Gardella, 92, a lifelong resident of Framingham, died February 13, 2022.

She was the wife of the late Joseph Gardella for 60 years.

Born and raised in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late James and Bridget (Keaney) O’Leary.

Mrs. Gardella graduated from Framingham High School and the Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the hospital as a registered nurse in Labor & Delivery for many years.

She leaves her beloved children Judy Walsh and her husband Tom of Framingham, Jeanne Eckel and her husband David of Walpole, Thomas Gardella of Needham, James and his wife Tracey of Charleston, SC and West Harwich. She adored her grandchildren Tom Walsh and his wife Autumn, Hallee Walsh, James Eckel, Abby Gardella and Annie Gardella. She was the beloved great grandmother of Penelope Walsh and Sutton and Coralie Eckel. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Mary Collins, Margaret Ferriter, and Beatrice Erickson.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her visiting hours on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget Church on Friday, February 18th at noon.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory can be made to St Patrick’s Manor Framingham MA.
