MARLBOROUGH – William R. “Wink” Bowser, 66, of Marlborough died Friday February 11, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Phyllis A. (Place) Bowser for the past 36 years.
He was born, raised and educated in Marlborough the son of the late Harvey W. and Mary R. (LaBossiere) Bowser.
Wink was a talented auto mechanic and worked for Tosti’s Service Center in Framingham for 27 years before retiring in 2017.
He loved NASCAR, auto racing, classic and vintage cars and football. Wink was a caring and gentle man that would help anyone who needed it.
Beside his wife Phyllis he leaves his daughter Stacey Bowser of Sudbury; a step-daughter Tammy Hedderig and her husband Chris of Marlborough; two grandchildren Cara and her husband Steve Cassidy and grandson Cameron Hedderig; four great grandchildren Callum, Lincoln, Farren and Aspen;many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings, Harvey, Dennis, David, Sheila, Rosemary, Donna and Debra.
Calling hours will be held Thursday February 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street in Marlborough.
A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Friday February 18.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street in Marlborough.
