Framingham Public Schools Updates Dashboard From 6 to 23 Cases on February 4

FRAMINGHAM – On Saturday, February 5, the Framingham Public Schools district reported just 6 new COVID cases on February 4. There was no school on Friday due to the ice storm “snow day.”

But today, February 7, the Framingham Public Schools dashboard is reporting 23 cases reported on Friday, February 4.

It is unknown if the 23 cases are all students, staff, or a combination of both. The district does not separate that number in its dashboard.

On February 3 the Framingham Public Schools surpassed 2,400 COVID cases for the academic 2021-22 school year. To put that in perspective there is more than 9,300 students in the school district, of which roughly 2,400 are at Framingham High.

The district is now reporting 2,423 total COVID cases during the 2021-2022 school year through yesterday.

January had the highest number of cases in the school district since the pandemic began in 2020.

For the month of January, the public school district’s dashboard reported 1,748 COVID cases in the school district since January 1, 2022, which is about 75% of all cases this school year.

On January 10, the district reported a record, one-day high of 148 new cases, as the Omicron variant was surging. It now appears to be waning.

The district reported 7 cases at Hemenway Elementary and six cases at Walsh Middle School.

Three cases were reported at BLOCKS preschool and three cases at Barbieri Elementary.

Two cases each were reported at Potter Road and Harmony Grove Elementary schools.

Framingham High School leads the school district with 571 cases, during the 2021-22 school year.

Walsh Middle School is reporting 233 cases this school year.

There have been 190 COVID cases at Cameron Middle this school year.

Eleven schools have recorded more than 100 cases each this school year.

There have been 41 COVID cases at the Farley administration building.
