FRAMINGHAM – Shields Health Care is proud to announce that Shields MRI Framingham has been designated a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence® (DICOE) by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
DICOE is a one-of-a-kind program in diagnostic medical imaging made for facilities who aim to go beyond the Gold standard of ACR accreditation.

As of this year, five Shields locations have now earned this distinction: Brockton, Brighton, Dartmouth, Framingham, and Yarmouth.
The organization now offers the largest network of DICOE sites in Massachusetts, ensuring that patients have access to high-quality, affordable imaging care for patients in their communities.
The DICOE program is the pinnacle of medical imaging care and is an achievement that goes beyond accreditation to recognize best-quality imaging practices and diagnostic care. DICOE facilities exceed the standard requirements of accreditation to achieve the designation. They also have an ongoing process for self-assessment (and improvement) including participation in the ACR Dose Index Registry® and General Radiology Improvement Database.
