FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Public School district reported 17 new COVID cases on Friday, January 28.

It is unknown if the 17 cases are all students, staff, or a combination of both. The district does not separate that number in its dashboard.

On January 10, the district reported a record, one-day high of 148 new cases, as the Omicron variant was surging. It now appears to be waning.

The district is now reporting 2,239 total COVID cases during the 2021-2022 school year. There are just under 10,000 students in the school district.

This week, the district reported 167 new COVID-19 cases.

Last week, there were 510 cases reported in the Framingham Public Schools, which is more than 36% of all cases reported during the 2021-2022 school year.

Students and staff returned back to the classrooms on Monday, January 3, after the winter holiday vacation break.

There have been exactly 1643 cases in the school district since January 1, 2022, which is about 73% of all cases this school year.

Today, the district reported 4 new cases at Framingham High,

Four new cases were also reported at Harmony Grove Elementary and Hemenway Elementary.

Three new cases were reported at Potter Road Elementary.

One case was reported at the following schools: Walsh Middle and Barbieri Elementary.

Framingham High School leads the school district with 553 cases, during the 2021-22 school year. There are roughly 2,400 student at the high school.

Walsh Middle School surpasses 200 cases. It now has 201.

Cameron has had 171 cases.

Barbieri has 151 cases this school year.

Eleven schools have recorded more than 100 cases each this school year.
