MARLBOROUGH – Alberto C. Vargas, 83, of Marlborough died Tuesday January 25, 2022 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough.

He was the husband of Bertha (Villarruel) Vargas for the past 58 years.

He was born, raised and educated in Puquio, Peru the son of Antonio and Donata (Quevedo) Vargas.

Alberto was an Internal Auditor for the National Bank of Peru for over 25 years. 

He enjoyed reading, dancing and studying about history. He was compassionate, friendly and had a great sense of humor, often telling jokes. 

He leaves his wife Bertha Vargas of Marlborough; two daughters, Soledad C. Johndro and her husband Steve of Marlborough and F. Carina Vargas of Marlborough; two grandchildren, Nicholas Campos Vargas of Marlborough and Samantha Johndro of Marlborough; three siblings, Antonio Vargas of Lima, Peru and Eradio Vargas of Houston, Texas and Emilia Vargas also of Houston; many nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Tuesday February 1 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street in Marlborough.

Burial will be private following cremation.

Calling hours will be held Monday January 31 from 5-7 p.m. in the Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough. All are invited to sign Alberto’s online guestbook at www.collinsfuneral.com.
