FRAMINGHAM – The former Framingham Parks & Recreation Director is coming back to Framingham, as part of the Sisitsky administration.

Former Framingham Assistant Town Manager James Duane, who left Framingham in January 2018, when Framingham went from a Town to a City, will return to Framingham in February 2022, as the new Deputy Director of Parks & Recreation.

Before he was promoted to Assistant Town Manager, Duane served as Parks & Recreation Director in the Town of Framingham.

Current Framingham Parks & Recreation Director James Snyder has appointed Duane to fill the open position of Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation, according to the Sisitsky administration.

Duane will replace Tom Begin, who left the City in the summer of 2021 to become the Framingham Public Schools Assistant Facilities Director.

Duane’s start date is February 22, 2022.

Duane has been employed by the Town of Westford since February 2018, as the Director of Parks, Recreation, & Cemetery.

Duane had worked for the Town of Framingham from 2006 to 2018.

The hire does not need City Council approval.
