FRAMINGHAM – Fred R. Cahill, 81, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Marlborough Hills Health Care Center.

Born and raised in Framingham, he was the son of the late Robert and Catherine (Yelverton) Cahill.

Fred attended Framingham schools and graduated from Framingham High School.

Fred was a longtime chef at Holy Cross College in Worcester and later worked at the Village at Farm Pond in Framingham.

He is survived by his sisters, Hazel Cicciu of Framingham and Ethel Ghetti of Margate, Florida. He was predeceased by his twin brother Frank Cahill.

Fred is also survived by nieces and nephews, Richard Cicciu and his wife Annmarie of Framingham, Karen Dobson and her husband Brian of Framingham, Kathleen Boucher of Clinton, Giulio Ghetti and his wife Jennifer of Florida, Anthony Ghetti of Florida, Kimberly Maxwell and her husband Scott of Florida, Stephen Cahill and his wife Jacqueline of Scotland, Edward Sartell and his wife Mirtes of Marlborough and Donna Rothberg and her husband Steven of Hudson as well as many great nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Fred’s wishes, his funeral service will be private.

A Celebration of Life will be held at time to be determined.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Norton Funeral Home 53 BeechStreet in Framingham.

He will be buried in the family lot at Edgell Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to  the

American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
