This report was updated at 2:48 p.m. on January 19, as the school district’s dashboard updated from 99 new cases to 118 cases on January 18. Nineteen of the new cases were reported at Framingham High which went from 15 new cases to 34 cases.

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools reported 118 new COVID cases today, January 18, including 21 cases at Hemenway Elementary School. On Friday, 32 cases were reported at Hemenway Elementary.

There were 34 new cases reported at Framingham High School on January 18.

On Monday, January 10, the district reported a record, one-day high of 148 new cases, after a record one-day high of 141 cases on January 6.

It is unknown if the 118 cases are all students, staff, or a combination of both. The district does not separate that number in its dashboard.

The district has now surpassed more than 1,500 COVID cases this school year.

The district is reporting 1,582 COVID cases this school year. There is just under 10,000 students in the district.

Last week, there were 510 cases reported in the Framingham Public Schools, which is more than 36% of all cases reported during the 2021-2022 school year.

Students and staff returned back to the classrooms on Monday, January 3, after the winter holiday vacation break.

There have been 951 cases in the school district since January 1, 2022.

Almost 2/3rd of the cases this school year have been since January 1, 2022.

Today, the District reported 34 new cases at Framingham High and 21 new cases at Hemenway Elementary

There were 15 cases reported at King Elementary.

There were 10 cases reported at Dunning Elementary.

Nine new cases were reported at Potter Road Elementary School today.

Five cases were reported at BLOCKS preschool.

Four cases were reported at each of the following schools: Cameron Middle, Fuller Middle, Walsh Middle, and Barbieri elementary

Three cases were reported at Harmony Grove and three cases at Stapleton.

McCarthy Elementary reported one positive case.

Farley administrative building reported one positive case.

Framingham High School leads the school district with 407 cases, during the 2021-22 school year. There are roughly 2,400 student at the high school.

Walsh Middle School is second with 109 cases.

Farley administration building has had 33 cases.

Last Wednesday, it was decided to pause for two weeks all group indoor activities to limit the spread of COVID in the City.

The pause was lifted effective on January 14.

Tomorrow, January 19, a new indoor mask mandate goes into effect in Framingham.
